My placenta moved up!
Another good news besides CPC resolved in baby’s brain!
I was so happy and relaxed when the doctor congradualted me with such a promising information.
The placenta, which is a structure that connects the baby to the wall of mom’s womb, can partially or completely cover the opening of mom’s womb. When mom bleeds because of this, it is called placenta previa. Placenta previa can pose a potentail danger to mother and baby due to the risk of hemorrhage (excessive blood loss) before or during delivery.
The good news is, in a lot of cases, the placenta usually moves up and away from the opening of the uterus (cervix), as the uterus grows。Of course, it doesn’t actually rise, but when the uterus stretches, the placenta implantation site gets higher. Think about making a mark on a deflated balloon and then inflating the balloon. As the balloon plastic stretches, the mark “moves up” even though it doesn’t actually move.
I was diagnosed to have the placenta previa at my 13th week of gestation. By the 21st week, the placenta was diagnosed to move up. This good news means that I probably can give a natural birth for my baby, which is believed to be more beneficial for both mother and baby.
Blessings on other mothers’ birthing journey!
