Baby growing, month 2

Category: Baby growing, From Mommy, first year – mommy – 12:59 pm

During month two, DD continued to make surprising progress when she was growing. Here is what she could do by two months according to What to Expect the First Year (Second Edition) :

Week 5: DD began to look at me attentively. She gave me a big sunny smile, waved her arms and kicked her legs when I approached her crib. She started to play by herself after nursing. She also napped longer during daytime.

Week 6: DD could laugh out loud, squeal in delight, and even razz. She was extremely happy when I put her onto the changing table and changed her diaper. She cried much less. Instead she tried to talk, making all kinds of verbal experiments—a’s, e’s o’s and u’s, when she was hungry, needed diaper change, or wanted attention.

Week 7: DD began to sleep longer at night, ranging from 3 to 5 hours (sometimes even 6 hours), between two nurseries. She could look at hanging toys for few minutes. She stuck her tongue out and sometimes with bubbles. She began to mouth her fingers and suck her thumb. Sometime she tried to put two fingers or even a whole fist into her mouth. She turned in the direction of my voice and looked for the source of music or other sound.

Week 8: DD could follow a finger held about 6 inches above her face and moved her eyes from one side to the other. She could roll over one way onto her side without any problem. She could hold head steady for quite a while when upright.
