The 2002 Chinese movie “hero” has been one of my favorite movies since its debut. I like this movie, not because its well-known director and all-star cast, nor because its poetic virtual effects and refreshing Martial arts stunts, but because its philosophy, which contains the essence of Chinese culture and martial arts.
Today, I am going to teach you to say garlic, green bean, grape and grapefruit in Chinese.
At month 18, DD was on the move every minute except sleeping time. She still kept one habit that soothed her—sucking her thumb. Growing with her height was her tamper tantrums.
Spinach casserole with bacon and fresh shiitake mushrooms is DD’s favorite recipe. It is is flavorful to her taste bud, friendly to new teeth, nutritious to her health, and fairy easy to cook.
What we would do if some disasters, like the shifting of the plates, do happen in the future? What we would do to maintain humanity and protect civilization? Here are my solutions after watching the movie 2012.
In the beginning of 2009, M and I planned to take pictures of DD all year around and choose her best pictures to make calendars for 2010.
There are a lot of vegetables and fruits startting with the letter c. Besides carrot, cauliflower, cantaloupe and cherry (see How to say carrot, cauliflower, cantaloupe, and cherry in Chinese?), there are celery, corn, cucumber and coconut all starting with the letter c. Do you know how to say them in Chinese?
Tender and juicy green beans simmered in rich chicken broth are one of DD’s favorite vegetables.
At month 17, DD continued to constantly test her physical abilities. As to language development, she seemed to understand every word out of our mouth, no matter it was English or Chinese. Her growing independence is asserting itself in numerous ways.
For the year 2009, I am thankful for the grace of God which has allowed my family to stay healthy, safe and sound for a whole year around.
I feel grateful that M is still employed until this day. And I feel indebted to millions of nameless people who make our peaceful, organized, simple and routine life possible, a lot of whom I probably will never get a chance to know.
