Recipe 1: Carrot & sweet potato mix (for children of 6 months +)

Comments from mommy:
Carrots & sweet potato mix was one of the first solid foods I introduced to DD. It gave her a totally different taste and brand new experience from the breast milk. She enjoyed its taste and texture. Until this day carrot is still one of her favorite vegetables.

Ingredients:
2 cups of baby carrots,
1 sweet potato, washed, peeled and sliced (about 2 cups)

Nutrition facts:
Carrots are low in saturated fat and cholesterol while high in dietary fiber and vitamins (A, B6, C, and K). Carrots are also a very good source of potassium, thiamin, niacin, folate and manganese. These nutritional values and health benefits make carrots ideal for curing a lot of diseases, especially eye disorders and constipation.

Besides simple starches, sweet potatoes are rich in complex carbohydrates, dietary fiber, beta carotene (a vitamin A equivalent nutrient), vitamin C, and vitamin B6, manganese, copper, potassium and iron. The same as carrots, sweet potato is also an excellent cure for constipation.

How to cook?
1. Put ingredients into a steamer and cook until the carrots and sweet potato are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
2. Scoop some carrots and sweet potato into a blender and mix them together. Serve right away.

How to store?
1. Scoop the carrot and sweet potato mix into cubicles of an ice tray, until all the cubicles are filled.
2. Cover the ice tray with plastic wrap and place the tray into a freezer, about 2 hours.
3. Fill a cooking pan with water until the bottom is covered. Take the ice tray out of the freezer and place it in the cooking pan for about 1-2 minutes.
4. Shake the vegetables cubes out of the tray.
5. put the vegetables cubes into a heavy-duty freezer bag. Store the bag in the freezer for future use. The vegetables cubes can be given to babies as snacks or teething food, added to soup, or thawed in the microwave for direct consumption.

Woww!! Finally, I was wondering and not make sure how to put the cubes into bag and put it back to freezer, I thought they will all blend together since they are in 1 bag. Now I see the pics and totally helped me! Thanks!
