Last time, your baby (and you) learns how to say asparagus, avocado, apple, and apricot in Chinese. Today, I am going to teach you to say bell pepper, broccoli, banana and blueberry in Chinese.

An interesting health fact about bell pepper is that red bell peppers have significantly higher levels of nutrients than green. Red bell peppers also contain lycopene, which is a carotene that helps to protect against cancer and heart disease. This explains why red bell peppers are normally more expensive than greens ones in the supermarket.

Broccoli is rich in Vitamin A and C, and potassium. It has good amount of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and sodium with small amounts of iron, zinc, manganese, selenium, vitamin E, K, B6, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid and betaine. The phytonutrients, sulforaphane and the indoles contained in broccoli may prove it to be a wonder-drug for curing many types of cancer. Here is a recipe to make chicken pot pie with fresh broccoli (for children of 12 months +).
