Today, we received a big box from my parents and my brother in China. They sent us more than 40 Chinese pictures books and a bunch of movie DVDs for DD’s upcoming two-year-birthday.

DD was so excited. She immediately sat down, read the books, flipped their beautifully-printed pages, and was eager to open the cases of DVDs and watched the movies.

I was excited too. Theses Chinese books and DVDs, with classic Chinese stories, traditional Chinese drawings or music and accurate Mandarin pronunciations, are great resources for DD to learn Chinese language and culture.

“DD is so lucky! No every child has Chinese grandparents and uncle who can send her a lot of Chinese learning materials.” I said.

“Why not share these wonderful resources with your readers? I bet a lot of them need Chinese learning materials for their children.” M suggested.

THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA! (M has some of the greatest ideas once a while. The last one happened on Jan 1, 2009. See details in New year, new plan)

The next question is: how to share these resources with my worldwide readers? A lot of these Chinese learning materials are hard to find outside China, and it is against the copyright laws to post their contents on my blog.

How about I open Chinese bookstore online and sell them via the Internet? I already have a blog. Now I just need to add a database-driven shopping cart onto the website. M can definitely help me.

I called my parents and my brother in China and thanked them for their wonderful birthday gifts to DD. I told them of my online Chinese bookstore idea. Surprisingly, my parents were very supportive. They said they would help me find high quality Chinese products.

Of course, my daughter DD will help test the quality of these hand-picked Chinese learning materials with her attention and interest. She will be a qualified tester!

What do you think? My plan is to provide high-quality items and services to customers. If you have any inspirations, suggestions, ideas, or questions, please leave a commnet. Your feedback will be quite educaitonal!
