Why babies are expensive?
Because they cost parents $28.515625 a week on diapers, $200 on infant crib, $178 on crib mattress, $99 on baby monitor, $100 on nursing pillows, $178 on infant car seat, $294 on convertible car seat, $158 on stroller, $300 on breast pump, hundreds of dollars on nursing accessories (pads, cream, storage bags), and much more on baby wears (bodysuits, booties/socks, caps, seasonal outerwear, and etc) (see Baby checklist).
Babies are expensive because none of these items can be skipped or compromised!
Babies are expensive because I can wear my old heavy winter outfit while baby cannot wear old diapers;
Babies are expensive because I can cancel any budget for fancy items while baby still need the best and most reliable car seat;
Babies are expensive because home-made pork roast serve fine for Christmas dinner (instead of eating out) while organic baby food will not be replaced by cheaper ones;
Babies are expensive because we spent the money supposed for our anniversary on buying an on-sale camcorder to record baby’s every priceless moment.
Babies are expensive because they are the last parents want to cut budgets on. But, to us, baby is the precious that money cannot buy. Therefore, we will continue to care for her no matter the cost.
